What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-Step program.

We meet every Monday Night at 6:30 PM in the Quest Building at 14th Street and Missouri.

Our purpose is to offer an opportunity to participate in a group fellowship, where God’s love and hope combine with God’s purpose to mend our lives. We celebrate God’s healing power in our lives as we work our way along what we call the “Road to Recovery.”
This is a process, and it takes time, but we do NOT walk this path alone. Others, committed to this process, can come along side us, to make it safe, and help us continue forward.

We’re encouraged to work through the Twelve Steps of Recovery and the “Eight Principles” as found in the Beatitudes, where we’ll grow spiritually, as we’re freed from our Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a strong relationship with others and our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

This is achieved through praise, worship, informative lessons, personal testimonies, fellowship and small groups.

What are Hurts, Hang-ups and Habits?

Hurts: The feeling of being hurt is an emotional reaction to another person’s behavior or to a disturbing situation. Examples of some of these issues are things like abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce or relationship issues.
Hang-ups: Hang-ups are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or an adversity. Things like anger, depression, fear, or unforgiveness.
Habits: A habit is an addiction to something like alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping, or smoking … Or it can be to someone, like relationship addiction.

What we are:

A safe place to share … A refuge … A place of belonging …
A place to care for others and to be cared for … Where respect is given to each person … Where confidentiality is highly regarded … It’s a place to learn … A place to demonstrate genuine love … A place to grow and become strong again …
It’s a place for progress … A place where you can take off your mask and allow others to know who you are … A place for healthy challenges and healthy risks … And a possible turning point in your life.

What we’re NOT:

A place for selfish control … Therapy … A place for secrets … A place to look for dating relationships … A place to rescue or be rescued by others … Not a place for perfection … A long-term commitment … A place to judge others … or a quick fix.
